Ok.. so that worked just fine. This is going to be interesting ~ I will be able to post things that are obscure, even to myself! I have not seen this photo in years. This is in the basement / backstage at The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. I met Mike and Chris here. From this little jam, Mike and I ended up working together where he produced my second album, Second Sight. The funny thing about this situation, is that I was on a borrowed guitar, and a borrowed pick ~ and a friend of mine had dared me to approach these two to play a song. (I didn’t know them at all). So there it was, I played Road Work Ahead with them, and it was quite embarrassing really… the fact is that I had borrowed a pick that felt like the width of a large man’s portion of meatloaf. Because of this it was like I was all thumbs… and I kept dropping the pick mid-song. I probably dropped the pick 3 times. To approach these two virtuosic giants to sing a song where the pick is on the floor for half of it was definitely not what I had in mind… but be as it was, everything happens for a reason.
